Hello I’m Danielle Erb, owner, curator and master artist for DanielleStyle Concept Salon. This is my story; this is how my all encompassing world of styling came to be.

Papa Ken always taught me to have a back up plan... and then, have a back up plan for your back up plan. What was orginally thought of as “ fatherly advice”, quickly became law for me. At 32, my father, who was a firefighter, was first to respond to a fire that turned into an explosion. He was littered with shrapnel and 3rd degree burns fron head to toe, but it was ultimately the damage to his left eye that forced him into early retirement from the fire department. Through the eyes of a 6 year old, I watched him turn his back-up plan into a career as a chauffered fishing guide that has served him well into retirement. By age 17, my own plan was set.  The back up for modeling was hairstyling, after that was make-up, which then backed up to weddings, from there to commercial styling and so on.

Having taken his advice as law, rather than a mere parental lesson, I found that my styling “sword” was being sharpened on all sides. One skill made me better at the other. Styling weddings teaches you to be methodical and quick, which photographers LOVE on set. Working in the salon gave me a deep understanding of how to manipulate hair into a variety of shapes.  Most “set” hair and make-up stylists don't have this knowledge because they didn’t go to Cosmetology School and back comb roller sets into oblivion for 1,500 hours. (Not that I’m bitter:)  Working on shoots and videos gave me an inside perspective into light and how its presence or absence effects everything - which is not something you can just pick up in a salon.  Last but not least, 15 years as a print model opened my eyes to the experience of being styled. Never will I forget the feeling of having my hair styled by a woman that clearly did not have a clue. She'd given me a strong “golden girls” vibe that in turn did not get me a call back from the client.

As you can imagine, coordinating all this was mayhem. At one point there were 4 schedules to coordinate. My commercial agent had one, the salon I worked at had it's own schedule, my bridal bookings required another, and then my personal life was the fourth. I’m sure my agent and owner of the salon I worked at wanted to strangle me!

There had to be a better way. I was a stylist looking for a home that could support my love of cutting and coloring, manage and promote my commercial shooting schedule, and provide the level of customer service that I believe the bridal experience requires. The gap in the industry was obvious and my mission was clear:  Like minded artists needed support. Creating a salon space that acts as home base to stylists, with the common desire to master many facets of the industry, was my ultimate goal. Thus, the DanielleStyle Concept Salon was born.

We all have our own unique specialty skills that set us apart. Well rounded stylists, with such a broad spectrum of specialties, both in salon and out, simply do not exist anywhere other than DanielleStyle.  Over the years, our brand has been represented by many talented artists. Some we have trained, others came to us with their skill set already in place. Either way, we all share the same goal: To create and style where ever we go.

It’s the DanielleStyle belief that everyone, every product, every client has something exceptional about them. It’s our job to find it, showcase it, highlight it, and make it a focal point.  We draw attention to the good, while focusing on the personality and character that is true to the individual and their styling goals.

As I approach my 20th year of styling and 11th year on “the Hill” in our little boutique, off the beaten path, speakeasy salon,  I can’t thank my clients enough for their support, love and loyalty. Thank you for letting me be your stylist. Thank you for your trust and friendship.  Anyone who works with me says, “ Wow, you have the best clients!”  This is so true. Some of you are like family and for that I will be forever grateful.

No matter what we are styling. Let us show you the difference a DanielleStyle "Master Stylist“ makes.
