Have you ever had dry lips so bad that you couldn’t stand it? You can’t think about anything but the relief some chap stick would give. Travel always makes me extremely dry, which is why I was wondering through the make-up isles of Bon Marche in Paris hoping to score a sample of gloss, balm, something…anything to soothe my parched lips. Ah, bingo. I see a sign that says, “ Rose Lip Balm by a company named By Terry.Never heard of it before, but here goes nothing. The ladies at the counter were gracious enough to help me out with a sample, and oh my I was really impressed. This balm was creamy, not sticky, and had the most intoxicating rose fragrance. My porthole of knowledge ( google) told me it was for sale in the states, so I thought I’d grab some at home. Bad choice, most things are cheaper if you buy in the states, but because by terry is a french company, what was 30 euro in France is not 60 us dollars in the states. Sixty bucks for lip balm??? Are you nuts? I know it’s crazy, but this product does double duty. It acts as an emollient and hydrator for your cuticles and it really works. Instantly absorbs and hydrates. Which is a tall order considering my hands are constantly dry from being in water. And then there’s the rose scent. No one does rose scented anything like the french. They somehow manage to scent things with flowers and not make them overwhelming. Food, make-up, parfum everything. So, if you are ever in the mood for a new balm, give By Terry’s Rose balm a try. You will not be disappointed.
