Our Story
First, let’s back up a bit...
Danielle’s father, Ken, a firefighter, taught her to have a backup plan for her backup plan. He was the first to respond to a fire that turned into an explosion, resulting in shrapnel wounds and third degree burns from head to toe. It was ultimately the damage to his left eye that forced him into early retirement from the fire department at the age of 32. As a six year old, Danielle watched him turn his backup plan into a career as a personal fishing guide that served him well into retirement.
In her teens, Danielle became a sought-after model for designer campaigns and print magazines in both the U.S. and abroad. Though she had a long career as a model, she had figured out her backup plan by the time she was 17—she wanted to turn her interest in hair and makeup into her next career.
She quickly honed her skills. Styling weddings taught her to be methodical and quick, a skill that’s loved by photographers on-set; working in a salon gave her a deep understanding of how to manipulate hair into a variety of shapes; and working on shoots and videos gave her an insider’s perspective into light and how its presence or absence affects a look. Plus, her years as a print model opened her eyes to the thrill of being styled.
After years as a top stylist at Dominic Michael in Ladue, numerous commercial shoots and earning the title of Bridal Hair & Makeup Queen, Danielle saw a need for a better way to support ambitious stylists like herself. Her next step was clear: Create a home base to support like-minded artists who wanted to master the many areas of the industry. Thus, the DanielleStyle Concept Salon was born.
DanielleStyle is a group of multi-talented stylists with a broad range of specialties, both in the salon and out.
As Danielle approaches her 20th year of styling and the 11th year in her boutique salon on The Hill, she is so grateful for the love, support and loyalty of her clients.
